Dressing up for college has always been the most fun element of the college life. Whether be it a regular day or the sudden get together treats, dressing up for college always tops the chart among college going youngsters. The one major reason behind this is we all have been planning since our school days to get rid of the uniform and give our personality a personal touch through our regular dressing.
Once we are done with college and enter the world of work or the corporate world, our style takes an upside down shift. Few of us have the least idea about dressing up for work as it’s totally opposite to the dressing we used to do in our college days. The corporate world is more about formal culture which includes shirts, trousers and heels.
Unlike the loose tee-shirts which we paired up with tights or ripped jeans, the corporate culture is all about the sane and smart dressing. For boys it is still easier to cope up with it but for girls it becomes a never ending task of rebuilding their entire wardrobe. From the spaghetti to the formal blouses it is a huge shift. But with a few smart points you can actually transform your wardrobe and get going for the corporate world.

The culture of every firm varies from being totally formal to the semi-formal dress code.
You need to first figure out your firms culture and then step into the matching shoes. There are companies which follow a more professional approach and that is the place where you should particularly follow the formal dress code.
Dressing up well portrays that you are serious for your work while not dressing up properly showcases the careless attitude you carry to work.
Invest in staples
Buy clothes which can be mixed and matched or are neutral in nature. Even if your office is casual, it is important that you present yourself appropriately at your place of work. Buy shirts which are semi-formal and pair them with flared pants or bell bottoms which have appeared as the new cool from the 90s high fashion.
Avoid skimpy clothes.
Skimpy clothes are a big no to the work place. Also sleeveless tops should be avoided as tops with quarter sleeves or full sleeves give you are more formal and smart look. So don’t confuse modest for “frumpy”.

Also a very significant part of your personality is reflected from the way you do your face for work. Make sure the makeup you put should be minimal with mascara and a light lip color. Just do your eyebrows right and put a little blush on your cheekbones and it will give you a perfect work look.
