Sr Elasticsearch Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Fundamental Skills: Strong understanding and hands-on experience in Python, Elasticsearch, FastAPI, Python scripting, and other related technologies.
• Application Development: High proficiency in developing custom search and analytics applications using FastAPI and Elasticsearch.
• Data Indexing: Extensive experience with indexing data from various data sources, including big data systems such as Databricks and Snowflake.
• Querying and API Development: Proficient in querying data from Elasticsearch and creating REST APIs.
• AI/ML Implementation: Experience implementing AI/ML use cases on Elasticsearch.
• Performance Tuning: Expertise in tuning Elasticsearch performance by analyzing query patterns, optimizing indexing, caching, JVM heap size, etc., to meet SLAs.
• Reusable Libraries: Ability to create highly reusable libraries of index templates, custom analyzers, and scripts covering varied data types and use cases.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with data engineers to construct efficient pipelines and ETL jobs to maximize data quality and integrity.
• Guidance: Guide application developers on complex search, filtering, aggregation requirements, and query optimization.
• Research and Prototyping: Research and prototype new Elasticsearch features like AI-based relevance tuning and Graph capabilities.
• Cloud Technologies: Experience in cloud technologies, primarily Microsoft Azure.
• Problem Anticipation: Ability to anticipate problems and steer the team in the right direction.
• Software Development Lifecycle: Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, DevOps (build, continuous integration, deployment tools), and standard methodologies.
• Source Control Management: Experience working with source control management systems like Git and Bitbucket and managing packages using private registries like JFrog.
• Secure Coding Practices: Knowledge of secure coding practices, compliance, open-source technologies, and licensing.
